Mahabhishekam performed on Sept 4, 2010

The second anniversary of Kumbabhishekam of Sri Maha Sastha Ayyanar and Sri Shyamala Kali Temples, was celebrated in a grand manner on Saturday, Sept 4, 2010 with a Mahabhishekam. Hereditary devotees and the local ones actively participated.

The celebrations commenced in the morning with offering new vastrams to Sri Bhujapatheeswarar and Sri Oushada Managalambikai alias Sri Marundeeswari at the nearby dilapidated Sivan Koil. This was followed by abhishekam, alankaram and deeparadhanai of Sri Shyamala Kali. Back in Sri Maha Sastha Ayyanar temple, the proceedings commenced with abhishekam and alankaram of Sri Vinayakar and culminated with very elaborate abhishekams to the Lord and her Consort, alankaram and deeparadhanai. Sri Vinayakar, Pushkalama sametha Sri Maha Sastha were adorned with silver kavachams that day. The proceedings of the day concluded with annadhanam to everyone.

Photos taken on the occasion are available in Picasa Web Albums whose link is given alongside.

The organising committee conveys it’s thanks to all hereditary devotees who have provided financial support and have taken part in the proceedings. While the participation this year has been better than last year, the committee seeks larger presence on such occasions to seek collective blessings of our Kula Deivam.
