Over the last 2 years, the Kumbabhishekam Committee has tried to collate a list of devotees of the Sri Maha Sastha from various sources, including from the earlier available list, the details available with the old watchman, kurukkals, friends, relatives, etc. Letters have been sent in the past and received by some while in respect of the others, they have been returned undelivered. The Committee also created a group emailer at mahasastha@googlegroups.com to which updates are being sent regularly.

What is right?
What is right? Is it Soraikkayur or Surakkayur or Suraikkavur or Suraikayur or Suraikkayur? Well, this question has been bothering me since when I shared the name of this blog with one of the devotees when he asked me in a doubtful tone “Is it Suraikayur?”.

It will be two years on Saturday, 4th Sept 2010, since the Kumbhabhishekam of the Sri Maha Sastha Ayyanar Temple at Suraikayur. Like last year, a Mahabishekam of Maha Sastha will be performed at 9.30 a.m. on the same day, followed by annadhanam.
